The assistant turns your description into a working application, frontend, backend and database included, and commits it to your repository. You can pick which AI model does the work.

What you can build

Everything that runs on Basable ships as a container, and a site that only serves files needs none, so the list is long:

Websites. Landing pages, portfolios, documentation sites and single-page apps in React, Vue or plain HTML. A site with no server runs no container at all: it is served from the environment's storage, a plain one straight from your commit in seconds. How static sites work.
APIs. REST or GraphQL services in Go, Node.js, Python or whatever the job calls for.
Full-stack applications. A frontend and a backend in one repository, with a PostgreSQL database, migrations that run before the new version starts, and storage that keeps your data between deployments.
Off-the-shelf software. A published container image or a Helm chart, as long as it runs without root, which the platform requires of everything.

Two environments, one repository

Work lands on the dev branch and deploys to a preview environment you can share. Merging to main deploys the live environment. Previews sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity and wake on the next push, so an idle preview costs nothing.

You own the code

Everything the assistant writes lands in a git repository that belongs to you, on your own git host. It is ordinary code: Dockerfiles or Bazel to build the images, a GitHub Actions workflow and Kubernetes manifests in a k8s/ folder. There is no proprietary format and no export step. Clone it, change a file by hand, push, and the platform deploys what you pushed. You can also download a kubeconfig for either environment and use kubectl directly.

Isolated and secure

Each project runs in its own environment, with its own resource limits and network rules, on a sandboxed runtime that keeps it apart from everyone else's at the kernel level. TLS is there from the first deployment, and the servers are in Europe.

Your domain, your AI agent

Every environment gets a secure address on basable.com. When the project is ready for its real name, put your own domain on it, with certificates handled for you. And if you already work in Claude Code, Claude in the browser or Cursor, connect it to Basable over MCP: your agent writes the code, Basable builds, deploys and hosts it.

What is Basable?

Basable is an AI app builder that also hosts what it builds. You describe an application, the assistant writes it into a git repository you own, and Basable deploys it to an isolated environment with its own address. A preview and a live environment come with every project.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe what you want and judge the result in the preview. If you do code, the repository is ordinary code you can change by hand, and the platform deploys your commits the same way it deploys the assistant's.

Do I own the code?

Yes. It lives in your own repository from the first commit, and the build runs in your own CI. Nothing is held back, so there is nothing to export if you leave.

How is Basable different from other AI app builders?

Most AI app builders host what they build now, so the difference is what you keep and control. Basable writes ordinary code into your own repository, in any language, builds it in your own CI, and runs each environment in a Kubernetes cluster of its own that you can administer with kubectl. Which AI model writes the code?

Anthropic's Claude models. You pick the model, and the pricing page lists each one with its price per million tokens.

What does it cost?

Every new organisation gets 1 month free per environment. After that you pay for the capacity you reserve, by the second, with no base fee: the free size costs €20.14 per environment per month, excluding VAT. A static site reserves no capacity and is free for good within 1 GiB stored and 1,000,000 requests a month, with no payment method. The pricing page has every rate, and pricing.json has them as data.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, in three ways: register one with us, delegate one you own, or keep your DNS where it is and add two records. Bringing your own domain costs nothing. The domains guide compares them.

Is Basable ready for production?

Basable is in alpha. The pipeline from description to deployment works end to end, but expect rough edges, and keep backups of anything you value; the terms say what alpha means. Since the code is in your repository, a backup of it is a clone.
